Hello, my name is Stephanie.  After five decades away, I recently returned to a region of West Africa where I spent part of my childhood in a close-knit educational and cultural community with my siblings and parents, an educator and a public health social worker. Reconnecting with longtime family friends and the community reminded me how deeply these cultural roots continue to shape how I think, live, communicate, create, and work today.

The experience reinforced something I have long believed: people, communities, and organizations hold powerful strengths that are often overlooked when facing barriers, change, and uncertainty. Recognizing and building on these strengths can open new pathways for learning, growth, and transformation.

At Malimbeconnect, this perspective guides how work occurs with individuals and organizations. Through appreciation-based practices and human-centered approaches, we help people strengthen relationships, expand their capacity for adaptive thinking, and navigate change while working effectively within an increasingly technology-enabled world.

Grounded in my doctoral research on appreciative inquiry as an organizational change model, this approach guides my work in helping people and organizations collaborate and thrive in a rapidly evolving, complex world.

A Deliberate Practice

Strengthening Human-Centered Relationships as AI Reshapes Work and People

As artificial intelligence transforms how work happens, the ability to build strong human relationships, navigate change, and collaborate effectively becomes even more essential. I help individuals and organizations co-create human-centered, relational, and sustainable outcomes that enhance performance—wherever work occurs.

Helping People and Organizations Thrive in Evolving, AI-Enabled Work Environments.

Appreciation-based practices strengthen outside-in thinking and human-centered AI relationship strategies, expanding possibilities and driving growth through technological change.

Inside the Appreciation-Based AI-5D Cyclical Practice

The Appreciation-Based Ai-5D practice helps individuals and organizations move from focused priorities to sustained transformation.

AI-5D Cyclical Practice

Define → Identify 1–3 priorities that matter now and for the future

Discover → Surface data strengths, risks, and barriers

Dream → Expand collective imagination and possibilities

Design → Translate aspirations into human-centered systems, structures, and behaviors

Deliver → Practice, reinforce, and sustain transformation

In an AI-5D human-centered practice, the central question is: how can we redesign work to enhance productivity while honoring the human experience in an AI-enabled world?  Using AI technologies to reshape work challenges us to rethink skills, roles, and how people create value—while navigating risks, barriers, and unintended influences.
